Midwest trailride rules for vehicles and passengers will apply. Any vehicle or person not following these rules will not be allowed on the trails. ALL DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS MUST SIGN WAVERS BEFORE GOING ON THE TRAIL. Following are most of the midwest trailride rules The midwestern 4 wheeler will serve as the official paper to cover any possible clarification and/or changes of these rules. MW4WDA makes no representations or express or implied warranties that compliance with the rules and regulations published in the rule book or published during the course of the year in the midwestern 4 wheeler will prevent or guarantee against injury or death to spectators or participants or damage to personal property. These rules and regulations constitute the minnimum acceptable standards. Safety is the responsibility of equipment manufacturers, builders and the participants in the event. The decision of the rules committee or management will prevail on any situation not covered by these rules. 2 1/2 lb. MINIMUM FIRE EXTINGUISHER required within easy reach of DRIVER. All vehicles must have SEAT BELTS and eather a ROLL BAR or non removable hardtop. All vehicles will be equipped with properly working brakes on all four weeles and will have a spare tire available for use. roll bar or roll cage required on all steel bodied vehicles without original non removable steel top. Damage due to rust or cracking may be required to have a frame mounted roll bar at the discretion of the rally master. Roll bar or roll cage required to a frame mounted in at least four places for fiberglass and aluminum bodied vehicles. It is required that all vehicles be equipped, within easy reach of the driver, a minimum of 2 1/2 pounds dry chemical or CO2 Fire extinguisher. It is recommended that all vehicles be equipped with an adequate first aid kit. All vehicles must be equipped with proper seat belts, with a seat belt for each and every driver and passenger and in use when vehicle is in motion. There will be no hallucinatory drugs or alcoholic beverages allowed on the trails. This will be grounds for immediate expulsion from the event and will be strictly enforced. There shall be no unnecessary damage to lend or vegetation, or endangering livestock or wildlife. At no time may trees or vegetation be removed from private or public lands unless written permission is granted from the land owner or other agency. Participants are not allowed to litter on trails. All litter must be picked up by participants. This will be strictly enforced. No guns or firearms will be allowed. It shall be the duty of parents to control their children at all times, especially around moving or winching vehicles. [ A broken Winch line is lethal.] It is required that any participant or vehicle leaving a trailride before its conclusion, inform the trailmaster of this action. Exhaust system must be mounted in such a way as to direct exhaust away from occupants, gas tanks, and tires or possible gas spillage. Mufflers are required. No open exhaust allowed. Absolutely no neutral drops will be allowed. All vehicles must be capable of 4 wheel drive on demand. Failure to comply with above rules will be grounds for expulsion from event. Pets must be leashed and attended or confined, and cleaned up after. Excessive barking will not be tolerated. Owners will be responsible for pets actions. A secure means of hitching front and rear is required. Tow hooks are highly recommended. It is recommended that any vehicle with a rear mounted fuel tank so exposed to constitute a rupture hazard, either on or off Road, be equipped with skid plates, both bottom and sides. The driver must be able to kill the vehicles ignition system while strapped into the vehicles seat belts. Roll bar- where it states roll bars are required: Roll bar must consist of at least one continuous hoop not less than 2" o.d. Roll bar must be suitably braced within 6" of the top of the main hoop and constructed of the same material as the main hoop. bars must be mounted to either the frame or the body. If mounted to the body, bars must have backing plates made of steel and a minimum thickness of 1/8 inch. Roll bars must be mounted in at least four places. No washers accepted as backing plates. All alluminum bodied vehicles must have frame mounted roll bars. Where bolts are used for mounting roll bars, they must be at least 3/8" diameter and have a minimum of A.S. grade 5 and each mounting plate must have at least three bolts in them. Low carbon mild steel tubing is recommended. Other materials are subject to prior approval. No square tubing is permitted, no iron pipe of any kind is permitted. Workmanship will be evaluated by the inspection team. No brazing or soldering allowed. Factory bars exempt. CAMP RULES AND REGULATIONS A speed of 5 M. P. H. will be strictly enforced in camp ground. No CAMPER may leave a fire unattended. Extinguish before leaving camp area. No motorcycle or atv's in camp or on trails. No excessive noise or unnecessary running of loud vehicles will be allowed from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. No guns or firecrackers allowed. Campers may and only where directed by camp director. All litter must be placed in camp provided litter containers.Recycling is mandatory. The club has the duty to require each vehicle to conform to safety standards for equipment, such as properly working brakes, seat belts, adequate hitching Devices, Fire extinguishers and required roll bars where deemed necessary. Roll over protection on fiberglass bodies must be frame mounted in at least four places. The club must appoint a mechanically experienced person to inspect all trail vehicles for required safety equipment and general vehicle worthiness and safty. That person has the right to refuse any vehicleon the trail if deemed mechanically unsafe or in violation of trailride safty rules. It is the clubs duty to require and inspect for seat belts for each and every passenger in the vehicle and the trailmaster to enforce ther use at all times when the vehicle is in motion. Pets must be leased and attended or confined, and cleaned up after. Excessive barking will not be tolerated. Owners will be held responsible for pets actions. ANYONE FOUND WITH HALLUCINATORY DRUGS IN CAMP OR ON TRAILS WILL BE EVICTED.
